Terms
& Conditions
UPDATED:
03/14/2010
Our animals are priced according
to quality, pedigree, breeding history, performance records, and/or potential.
We strive to produce the type of animal that can function efficiently over a
long productive lifetime, and this is the type of animal we want to deliver to
you. We place strong emphasis on performance in both the show ring and milk
pail. We participate in DHI, Linear Appraisal, Classification, and exhibition in
order to prove the quality and potential of our animals. Performance records for
each doe are posted on the doe's individual web page. A whole herd summary of
production records can be viewed here.
All of our animals are
accurately described and are guaranteed to be healthy and "as represented" at
the time of the sale. We will gladly provide references if desired.
We abide by ADGA Recommended Trade Practices for Members (ADGA
Guidebook, Bylaws Article XIX).

REGISTRATIONS
Our Nigerians are registered with ADGA, and many are dual registered
with AGS. All young kids will be registered
with ADGA by us unless otherwise stated. The ADGA registration certificate will then be forwarded to the buyer.
As of 1/01/10 we are no longer registering goats with AGS.
We do allow buyers to name kids on occasion.
If you wish to name your kid, please notify us of that ASAP. All
kids will be tattooed prior to leaving our farm.

DEPOSITS
We do not take monetary deposits on most reservations. Just let us know
if you have an interest in a particular breeding and we will add you to the
"wish list" and will inform you when the kids are born. Please note: If you are
on the wish list and you do not make a purchase, you will be required to make a
monetary depost before we can reserve kids for you from future breedings.
Although our kidding
schedule does have prices listed, those prices are tentative. The prices for
kids may change once the kid is on the ground. At that point, I will evaluate
both the kid and its parents. The sire and/or dam may have accumulated
additional show wins or milk records which may influence the pricing. This is
just one of several reasons why we do not accept monetary deposits for unborn
kids.
Once your agree to make a purchase, a $50.00 non-refundable deposit will hold your kid or adult of choice for
30 days,
so that shipping and/or pickup arrangements can be made. The balance
of the sales price must be paid within 30 days.
After 30 days, a
boarding fee of $2.50 per day will be added to the sale price.
After 60
days, the animal will be placed back on our sales list, and any monies paid
toward that animal will be forfeited by the buyer.

SHIPPING / TRANSPORTATION CHARGES
We ship nationwide out of
Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU). All shipping costs are the
responsibility of the buyer, along with any costs for special health requirements.
The
cost of a standard Veterinary Certificate of Inspection is $50
(our cost), and will be issued with every animal sold. NO EXCEPTIONS. (Additional
testing would be extra, with the purchaser paying the cost of receipted expenses).
Please
take the time to check your state's animal importation requirements by going HERE.
We must adhere to the requirements of
each state. (Actual shipping or importation requirements will be the sole responsibility
of the purchaser).
Please note - RDU is a
round trip drive of 220 miles for us and we add $75 to the shipping
charges to cover our mileage and time off from work. I prefer
not
to ship adults by air. If you're looking for an adult animal, please plan to pick them up here at
our farm or at one of the shows on our schedule. If delivered to a show, there will
be a transportation fee, normally $50, as well as the standard health certificate fee.
*******************
Our herd is certified free of TB (A37) and Brucellosis (C54), and we are
enrolled in the voluntary Scrapie Eradication Program (NC1070016) Our herd
is CAE FREE. Last whole herd test - June '09 (all negative, and the herd
has tested all negative for 4 consecutive years now). All of our animals over
6 months of age have been tested for CAE and Johnnes, and we have never had CL
on our farm. ALL health related
and/or reproductive information that we have on an animal will be passed along to the
potential buyer.

GUARANTEES
We guarantee our goats to be reproductively sound, and free from
disqualifying faults and/or genetic anomalies at time of sale. Because we cannot
control environmental influences and/or conditions once said animal leaves our
property, we cannot offer further guarantees.
We also cannot guarantee the show career of any goat.
There are too many factors involved that we have no control over. Management
alone can have a significant impact on an animal's show ring performance.
We feel that Nigerians are a true miniature dairy
breed, and therefore we will guarantee the height of all of our does to remain
within the ADGA and AGS maximum height standards of 22.5 inches. If any doe bred by us exceeds that height limit, we will replace it.
(the original animal to return here).
Transportation charges surrounding such replacement will be the responsibility of the buyer, but there
will be no additional charges.
NOTE: Because of the way some
judges are measuring bucks, and because we have witnessed Nigerian Dwarves being
fed steroid laced feeds, we cannot guarantee the mature height of bucks. We will
honestly represent the growth potential, based on past performance, of any
breeding on our farm.
Please note that in the case of bottle feeding kids, we will have them checked
by our vet no more than 24 hours before pick-up/shipping. We suggest you take
the kid to your vet within 48 hours of purchase/delivery, and have your vet
verify the health of said kid. We cannot guarantee the health of bottle
feeding kids for more than a reasonable period of time, usually 48 hours, after
leaving our farm.
Despite our negative CAE herd
status, all of our kids are raised on very strict CAE prevention, being fed
pasteurized milk from our own CAE negative does, and having no exposure to
positive animals. However, if you purchase a bottle feeding kid, since we have
no control over exposure via milk or other means, we cannot guarantee the kid in
that regard after it leaves our farm
*******************
Note: If you plan to use a third party to pick up
the animal from our farm, or at a show, and deliver the animal to you, please be
advised that our responsibility over the animal, and all guarantees, will end at the point when the
goat leaves our possession. We have no control over what happens to an animal
when in someone else's care, or what the animal may be exposed to during
transportation.
*******************
A $50.00 discount will be given to any 4-H'er who is
purchasing a goat for their own dairy goat project. A letter from the
county 4H extension agent stating their participation in a dairy goat project is
required to be eligible for the discount.

EXHIBITION
Per the ADGA RULES GOVERNING THE CONDUCT OF OFFICIAL SHOWS, section O, item
5, I respectfully ask that you do not exhibit any animal purchased from my farm
in a show in which I am officiating as judge for a period of at least 6 months
from the date of purchase of said animal.
